Coordinated, systematic development

The campaign sets out an estimated $13.7 million Development plan to work with communities, government institutions and development partners on infrastructure, economic opportunity and recovery.

What the plan includes

  • Infrastructure: roads, electricity, internet connectivity and support for local industries.
  • Youth: four sports and youth centres combining recreation, learning and practical skills.
  • Environment: protection of forests, wildlife and land, with long-term potential for tourism.
  • Voluntary return: support intended for about 2,400 returnees from Kenya, Uganda and other countries, with proposed assistance of $1,000 per person.
  • Rebuilding: proposed support averaging $500 for about 1,400 families affected by conflict, as well as rebuilding the Wunlit centre.
  • Constituency access: offices planned in Romic, Anantak, Kuacjok and Juba.

First four-year targets

The initial phase targets all four offices, two youth centres, assistance for 1,440 returnees and support for 840 rebuilding households. Implementation depends on financing, partners, consent and the responsible authorities.
