Services
Schools, healthcare, clean water and justice close to every home.
Modern services with community knowledge
The campaign’s proposed $35.2 million Services plan combines modern public institutions with the experience of local communities, elders and chiefs. The programme is intended to reach every Payam.
What the plan includes
- Education: 20 primary schools, 6 secondary schools (4 new and 2 upgraded), and one professional training centre, with planned solar power and Wi-Fi.
- Scholarships: 60 awards over ten years for high-achieving students across Tonj East.
- Healthcare: one county hospital in Romic, 20 clinics, 44 ambulances, 8 fire trucks, and birth registration.
- Clean water: 24 water yards and 120 taps with community input on locations.
- Justice and safety: a magistrate court in Romic, up to 10 Payam courts, and 8 security posts staffed through government systems.
First four-year targets
The first phase proposes the Romic hospital and court, 12 clinics, 11 primary schools, 14 water yards, 72 taps and 28 ambulances, subject to implementation resources and approvals. Annual reporting to every Payam is included in the proposed accountability framework.
